In our opinion we bought a total solution, orchestrated by the teachers. They teach, tell us what to do and obviously when to start. Some people have problems with that, but we don't. Any other (good) course we ever purchased offline was paid for in advance and commenced sometimes weeks after initial payment was made. Not one person I ever heard complaining about that.
