Double Google Page 1 Ranking With Keyword Stuffing?

Remember my post I did about Google being some how the worst search engine in the world? Well, guess what, it still has not changed. And, the funny part of this all is that the person I mentioned in my previous post, Hans, has again reported the site to be robbing others from their clicks and visitors several times up until today. I did the post on March 8, 2009 and, today September 25th 2009 the problem STILL exists.

My friend Hans does not see the funny part of things since he used to advertise on keywords like ‘private jets for sale’ ( So it seems Up to $8.60 per click). Until he found out what was going on. Hans has a private jet related business and for his hobby he started to look into search engine marketing and optimization.

He also learned that using blackhat techniques to rank on Google may work for a short period of time but that to use them is kind of unethical but even more important: They are against Google TOS and that should mean that once the site is caught by Google the site will then disappear from Google.

After Hans did some research to find out what his competitors did to get on Google he found out that one site in particular was giving him, Google and all Adwords advertisers the big finger.

He reported the site and, the site was indeed ‘punished’ for its bad boy behavior and was de-indexed. Hans was reassured that while he did not find out how to rank organically for the keywords, he was convinced that paying Up to $8.60 per click was a wise decision since he was dealing with a company which clearly had its dignity.

However, it was not long, and you can check this to see yourself, and the big bad blackhat culprits reappeared and this time on the 2nd and 3rd place on the first page of Google…

This pissed Hans off and he has given me the last spam report he has send to Google:

(Please take note, this is are the words from Hans, not from me… lol, just to make sure we do not get de listed by posting this stuff) But, I thought it to be entertaining enough to publish:

Dear Google,
Keyword stuffing. I can not believe my eyes to see it work so well.
I have now reported this site SEVERAL times and have not seen any result come out of this.

Omnijet is still #2 and #3 on private jets for sale when I do a search via the several data servers of Google. Most of them show omnijet to be #2 and #3.

I also count around 79 Adwords advertisers who pay money for the same clicks as omnijet steals and therefor gets for free.

This is allowing Omnijet to screw them. Since I have already reported them way before now, this is what it starts to look like.

Take note: The first time after I reported them for their ways of business you did the right thing and removed them from your first page rankings.

It earned some real trust and faith in Google on my personal part. However, it was not long and they re appeared on the #2 and #3 spot.

Now, it seems not to work so well at all, this spam and abuse report module.

I reported twice more in a space of several weeks to months with NO result. Very frustrating since what they are doing IS against your own TOS and therefor crapping on all of the Adwords advertisers.

Perhaps I should ask all other advertisers how they feel about this? When I found out, I stopped advertising, you know…

Once more, they pay good money for a keyword like private jets for sale. Up to $8.60 per click.

How would they feel, knowing that there is a double listing on the same page they pay for to advertise on, but these people cheat and do not pay hundreds if not thousands per month?

AND, that Google has been warned it to be happening and Google does nothing?

I feel it is only fair to give you guys another chance here.

However, should nothing change, I will take it upon me to contact EVERY single advertiser who is advertising on Adwords for ‘private jets for sale’ and I will provide them with details on what I have found is going on.

Sites with keyword stuffing should NOT be ranked first page #2 and #3.

It is against your TOS. Whether or not they are selling the jets and relative to the search phrase, they are now also people who have the attitude to screw not only all other paying advertisers, they tend to screw your organization AND laugh you all in the face too.

The worst thing is, you allow them day in and day out. As long as they are on those rankings…

If anyone is as passionate about Google as that I am about my business, they will most certainly be taken off as soon as you read zap.

zap…

Thanks for your cooperation,

Hans

The Google Team

… Is what he got back from them. As a matter of fact, that is what he got back every time he reported the site. Not once have they tried to contact him and it does make you think just how approachable Google really is…

I have spoken to Hans about this and he is serious about it too. Me personally, I could not be bothered so much to actually take all the necessary action to contact all of these people but,  then again, I do not own and sell private jet planes and he does… So, I do think that he has a point.

Google must have gotten the reports by now and nothing seems to happen. That is more than 6 months. There are thousands of people worldwide looking for this phrase… The top price is over $8 per click…

So, I can understand where Hans is coming from so to speak.

In my opinion, and knowing Hans a bit, this can turn in to a nice little story right there.

I’ll keep you up to date on this one… :)

What do you think about this? Is Hans in his rights? Should he warn other Adwords advertisers? Or, do you think he is big mouthing? Should Google not have looked in to his reports more seriously and should they have taken out the culprit site again?

I feel the pain … did the same reporting on a site competing with a client in organic ranking. Same situation – clear violation of Google’s TOS with hidden h1 tagged keywords all over their first page. It’s frustrating to see sites in clear violation apparently continue to “win” in the rankings while other sites that have worked hard to “follow all the rules” get shoved back.

      Hi Andrew,

      Welcome!

Up until now, November 21st Hans has not seen a change at all. I have to say I am pretty disappointed in Google and their ‘we want to be the best providing search engine’ since wanting and doing something to become it clearly are two different things as far as actual results go.

I think they can`t handle the amount of reports made and so most of them are most probably not even seen to.

Then there is the possibility they simply do not care…

Or, as it has to be either this, or someone is paying a lot of money. No other way.

This keyword stuffing is so ‘nineties’ and, if you should believe Google`s own team it SHOULD not even BE effective.

I am going to do a test in a few lower competitive niches to see if this simple blackhat like way works to get ranked.

It would save a lot of time indeed!

Any improvement for your client btw?

      Cheers,

      Walt
